My tenure at NVIDIA has been a journey of growth and learning, with opportunities to challenge my assumptions and build flexibility as a key design superpower. When I joined NVIDIA, I was the sole designer splitting my time between multiple MVPs and one-off projects. Through advocating for design, pushing for a lean design process, building consensus across stakeholders, and nudging my manager towards dedicated design resources, we've come a long way towards a more user-centered journey. I'm particularly proud of the intangible work of growing our team.
Currently, I'm working on a broad range of projects, including designing for teams without dedicated design resources to encourage adoption. Since 2022, I've been collaborating closely with two exceptional engineering colleagues to drive a unified vision and architecture for cloud products at NVIDIA. Together, we've developed a great symbiotic relationship, identifying gaps and pitfalls before the work lands on the larger team.
Design System
One of my significant accomplishments at NVIDIA has been leading the development of the NVIDIA Design System, a single source of truth for all our design components, patterns, and layouts. The system is modularly built with components as the base building blocks, allowing any team to design, realize, and develop products efficiently. As we continue to build new features, patterns emerge and inform the layouts. I work closely with engineering to ensure that the design system is seamlessly integrated with the partner system that modularizes code for the respective components.
